What is it?
UNTDuct PU Aluminum Duct Board is a rigid, pre-insulated duct panel featuring a high-density, closed-cell Polyurethane (PU) foam core sandwiched between two layers of corrosion-resistant aluminum foil. It is a complete air conditioning duct system in one lightweight board.

 

Unlike traditional duct systems (e.g., galvanized steel + fiberglass wrap), UNTDuct PU Aluminum Duct Board is a composite sandwich panel:

Outer Layers: High-purity aluminum foil (typically 60 or 80 microns) on both sides. The aluminum is treated with a corrosion-resistant coating (often epoxy or polyester), making it suitable for harsh environments, including coastal or industrial areas.

Core Layer: High-density closed-cell rigid Polyurethane (PU) foam (density typically 48 kg/m³). The closed-cell structure means water absorption is near zero (<0.5%).

Bonding: The aluminum and PU core are continuously laminated under heat and pressure, creating a permanent, peel-resistant bond – no delamination over time.

Superior Thermal Efficiency (Green Building Ready):

The PU foam core delivers an exceptionally low thermal conductivity (as low as 0.022 W/m·K). This means near-zero energy loss, lower operational costs, and no need for external insulation.

Lightweight, Ultra-Fast Installation:

One UNTDuct board weighs a fraction of traditional galvanized iron (GI) ductwork plus insulation. You can cut, groove, and assemble ducts on-site using simple hand tools. No heavy machinery, no wrapping insulation, no lagging.

The smooth, non-porous aluminum surfaces do not support microbial growth. There is no exposed fibrous insulation where dust and moisture can accumulate. This translates to healthier IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) and less frequent cleaning.

How to make Straight Duct with PU Aluminum Duct Board

 

Step 1 - Tracing: outline the duct shapes on the panel.

Step 2 - Cutting: Using manual cutting tools, cut along the panel edges and create 90 degree "V" grooves on the panel.

Step 3 - Gluing: Apply glue to the cutting surfaces of the panels.

Step 4 - Folding:  After the glue is cured, fold the sides toward each other to from the straight duct.

Step 5 - Taping:  The tape is applied only to the external seams of the duct where the sides of the panel were joined for air-tightness.

Step 6 - Flanging:  After applying glue and positioning the steel angle bracket, process to fit the PVC or aluminum invisible flanges.

Step 7 - Reinforcement: reinforce the duct with an aluminum reinforcement bar and G.I. Shaped disks, if necessary.

Step 8 - Sealing:  After the duct is assembled, seal all internal joints hermetically with silicone.
