What is PIR Pre-insulated Duct Board?

PIR duct board is a rigid, lightweight composite panel consisting of:

Core: High-density closed-cell PIR foam – inherently fire-resistant and offering exceptional thermal performance.

Facings: Both sides are bonded with aluminum foil (typically 60 or 80 microns thick), providing a vapor barrier, structural strength, and a cleanable interior surface.

Unlike traditional ductwork (metal + fiberglass/rubber insulation), the insulation is integral to the panel, ensuring consistent performance without gaps or compression.
