Polyurethane (PU) Foam Pre-Insulated HVAC Ductwork Panel is a high-performance, all-in-one solution designed for modern heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Built with a precision-engineered sandwich structure, it features a dense polyurethane (PU) foam core-celebrated for its exceptional thermal insulation properties-sandwiched between two protective layers of corrosion-resistant aluminum foil. This factory-prefabricated panel merges insulation, structural strength, and airtightness into a single component, eliminating the need for separate insulation installation and streamlining ductwork setup in diverse buildings.

The core advantage is the extremely low thermal conductivity (0.020W/m・K). The 20.5mm thick P3 board has an insulation effect equivalent to 40mm glass wool or 30mm plastic insulation layer.

 

Compared with traditional galvanized iron sheet ducts (thermal conductivity 0.038W/m・K), it can reduce the energy consumption of the HVAC system by 20%-30%. Taking a 10,000㎡ commercial building as an example, the annual air conditioning energy consumption can be reduced by approximately 80,000 kWh, equivalent to electricity cost of about 64,000 yuan.

 

The closed-cell structure has a water absorption rate of ≤0.36%, preventing moisture-induced failure and maintaining long-term insulation stability far exceeding traditional materials.

 

The composite structure combines insulation, structural strength, and protective functions, and differs from the traditional iron sheet duct's "metal + outer insulation layer" separate structure.

Physical and Installation Performance of P3 Duct Foam Panel

Lightweight and High Strength: The surface density is only 1.5 kg/m², which is 70%-75% lighter than metal ducts, significantly reducing the load on the building structure and the installation cost. The compressive strength reaches 202 kPa, capable of withstanding a wind pressure of 1000 Pa, meeting the requirements of 2500mm large-sized ducts.


High Air Tightness: Using built-in flanges for bonding, there are no nail gaps, with a leakage rate of less than 2%, which is 1/8 of that of traditional ducts, significantly improving the supply efficiency.


Efficient Installation: It can be cut and bonded on-site, without the need for special equipment, reducing the installation cycle by 50% and lowering labor costs by 30%.

 

The inner surface is smooth and self-cleaning with anti-bacterial treatment, which can inhibit the growth of bacteria and is suitable for high-cleanliness environments such as hospitals and food factories.

The fire resistance rating of the P3 board reaches EN 13501-1 B1 level (non-flammable), and the aluminum foil protective layer is A-level non-combustible material.

 

During a fire, the surface carbonizes to form a flame-retardant layer, without any molten droplets, and the smoke toxicity level T ≤ 6.4 (in accordance with the NES713 standard), with no toxic smoke spreading.

 

The ISO 9705 corner test shows that within 100 seconds, the fire source is reduced by 1/3, and the flame is confined to the area affected by the fire, providing a safety guarantee for the evacuation of personnel.

 

Although the unit cost of the material is higher than that of traditional iron sheets, the total life cycle cost is lower: installation cost is reduced by 30%, energy consumption cost is reduced by 20%-30%, maintenance cost is almost zero, and the replacement cycle is extended by 3 times.
