PU Insulation Boards are a modern, pre-insulated ductwork system used for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. 

 

What is it Made Of?

PU Insulation Boards are a sandwich panel with three key layers:

 

Aluminum Facings: Both inner and outer sides are clad with aluminum foil or aluminum sheet, delivering a smooth, clean and anti-corrosion surface. Standard indoor aluminum foil measures 60–80 microns. For harsh working conditions or outdoor use, thicker aluminum panels or extra protective coatings can be adopted.

 

Polyurethane (PU) Foam Core: The middle rigid polyurethane foam core functions as the core thermal insulation layer. Thanks to its closed-cell structure, the duct panel gains excellent waterproof capability and effective sound insulation.

 

Environmentally Friendly Foam: The polyurethane foam contains no CFCs or HCFCs that damage the ozone layer, achieving eco-friendly production.

Unlike conventional galvanized iron (GI) ductwork that requires separate on-site insulation wrapping, this Polyurethane PID ductwork delivers prominent advantages as follows:

High Energy Efficiency

With a PU foam core thermal conductivity of roughly 0.020 W/m·K, outstanding thermal insulation cuts energy waste and stops duct surface condensation.

Lightweight & Space Saving

Around 70% lighter than standard metal ducts, it lessens loads on building structures. Its compact design also saves valuable installation space.

Rapid On-Site Assembly

Built-in integrated insulation removes the extra insulation wrapping step, a one-step mounting system that speeds up construction by as much as 40%.

Special flanges and matched sealants ensure tight joints with minimal air leakage, boosting energy efficiency further.

Hygienic & Long Service Life

Smooth internal aluminum surface is easy to wipe clean and suppresses bacteria growth, ideal for hospitals, pharmaceutical factories and food production facilities.

PU Insulation Boards are a monolithic sandwich integrated duct panel. It adopts high-density rigid PUR closed-cell polyurethane foam as the core substrate, clad on both sides with embossed aluminum foil protective facings, effectively eliminating delamination risks and cold bridge formation. Key core technical specifications are listed below:

 

Standard dimensions: 2900 mm / 3950 mm × 1200 mm;

Common panel thicknesses: 10, 20, 25, 30, 40 mm

Foam density: 40-45 kg/m³; closed-cell content ≥ 95%

Compressive strength: 0.25 MPa; flexural strength: 2 MPa; dimensional change rate: merely 0.3%

Optional surface facings: 60 μm / 80 μm anti-corrosion aluminum foil for indoor use, or 150–200 μm solid aluminum sheet for outdoor harsh environments.

 

 

Manufactured via integral one-step forming technology, the panel avoids interlayer voids commonly found in conventional galvanized steel ducts wrapped with separate external insulation. Each panel is factory pre-combined with structural substrate and thermal insulation in one piece, delivering far superior material stability compared to on-site secondary insulation wrapping.
