Square PU Air Duct Sheet is a modern, pre-fabricated composite panel used primarily for constructing air conditioning and ventilation (HVAC) ductwork. It is designed to be a high-performance, energy-efficient alternative to traditional metal ducts.

 

Composition and Structure

The sheet has a "sandwich" structure, combining an insulating core with strong outer layers:

Core Material: The core is made of rigid polyurethane (PU) foam. This foam is typically closed-cell, providing excellent insulation and moisture resistance while being free of CFCs and HCFCs for environmental friendliness.

Outer Layers: The foam core is bonded on both sides with protective layers, usually embossed aluminum foil. The standard thickness for the foil is 80 microns for internal use, but thicker foils or pre-painted galvanized steel sheets can be used for higher durability in external applications.

Square PU Air Duct Sheets offer several significant benefits compared to traditional galvanized steel ducts :

Energy Efficiency:

The PU foam core has a very low thermal conductivity (around 0.02 W/m·K), which minimizes thermal loss and reduces energy consumption for air conditioning systems . This can lead to overall energy savings of 15-30%.

The panels are much lighter than metal ducts (about 1/3 to 1/2 the weight), which reduces the load on a building's structure and makes them easier to handle and install.

Leak-Free & Durable:

When properly installed with specialized sealing, these ducts have a very low air leakage rate (as low as 2%). They are also resistant to corrosion and mold, boasting a service life of 15-25 years.
