Polyurethane PID ductwork

Polyurethane PID ductwork is a modern, pre-insulated ductwork system used for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. It's designed as a high-performance alternative to traditional metal ducts, integrating structure and insulation into a single, lightweight panel.

 

What is it Made Of?

Polyurethane PID ductwork is a sandwich panel with three key layers:

Aluminum Facings: Both interior and exterior sides are laminated with aluminum foil or solid aluminum sheet, forming a smooth, sanitary and corrosion-resistant finish. Standard indoor-grade aluminum foil has a thickness ranging from 60 to 80 microns. For heavy-duty applications or outdoor installations, thicker aluminum sheets or supplementary protective coatings are available as alternatives.

Polyurethane (PU) Foam Core: The core substrate consists of rigid polyurethane foam, acting as the main thermal insulation medium. Its dense closed-cell structure endows the panel with outstanding water resistance and reliable acoustic insulation performance.

Environmentally Friendly Foam: This PU foam is produced free of ozone-depleting CFC and HCFC blowing agents, complying with global environmental protection standards.

Unlike conventional galvanized iron (GI) ductwork that requires separate on-site insulation wrapping, this Polyurethane PID ductwork delivers prominent advantages as follows:

Insulation is pre-integrated into the panel, forming an all-in-one installation solution without secondary insulation wrapping procedures. This can shorten overall construction time by up to 40%.

Matching dedicated joint flanges and sealing adhesives deliver exceptional airtight performance, cutting air leakage rates and further elevating overall energy efficiency.
