The panel material of Polyurethane PID boards boasts an ultra-light overall weight of merely 1.3–1.4 kg per square meter, over 60% lighter than galvanized steel duct panels of equivalent dimensions. It drastically cuts down dead loads imposed on building slabs and ceiling joists, eliminating the requirement for ceiling structural reinforcement during retrofitting works on aged buildings.

 

It delivers a compressive strength of no less than 0.25 MPa alongside outstanding flexural rigidity. When subjected to positive and negative wind pressures corresponding to wind speeds of 13–20 m/s, the panels remain free from deformation or structural failure. Its outer aluminum foil facing offers superior resistance to surface scratches and minor physical knocks. Cutting, folding and joint assembly operations are straightforward to execute. Dedicated CNC cutting machinery is available for fast on-site fabrication of custom fittings including elbows, reducers and tees with non-standard geometries. The material features exceptional dimensional stability: linear thermal expansion/contraction is negligible under extreme high and low temperature conditions, with no risk of delamination or blistering even after prolonged service life.

Moisture-proof, Cleanliness and Acoustic Characteristics of Polyurethane PID boards

The double-sided aluminum foil lamination delivers full moisture barrier performance, effectively resolving condensation and water dripping issues typical of high-humidity spaces including underground parking garages, supermarkets and swimming pools.

Its foam core features exceptional chemical stability, achieving Class 0 mold resistance and a 99.5% antibacterial efficiency. Free of fiber shedding, the material avoids air contamination, rendering it ideal for clean ventilation applications such as hospital operating rooms, pharmaceutical production workshops, food processing plants and data centers.

 

This Polyurethane PID boards adopt an integrated composite sound-absorbing structure. It cuts duct airflow noise by 30–40 dB during operation, removing the need for separate silencer accessories. Air supply noise indoors is further suppressed, making the product an optimal choice for noise-sensitive projects including hotels, office complexes and commercial shopping malls.

How to fabricate Polyurethane (PU) pre-insulated Straight Duct

 

 

Tracing: Use marking tools to outline duct shapes on the panel.
Cutting: Employ angle cutters or jack planes to create grooves, bevels, or straight edges.
Gluing: Apply specialized adhesive (e.g., polyurethane-based) to joints.
Folding: Bend panels along scored lines to form ducts.
Taping: Seal joints with aluminum or foil tape for airtightness.
Reinforcement: Use PVC or aluminum profiles to strengthen corners and edges.
Sealing: Apply silicone sealant to critical joints for added durability .
