Q: Do these ducts sweat or cause condensation?
A: No, if properly designed and installed. Because the PU foam core has excellent thermal properties, it keeps the outer surface temperature close to room temperature, preventing it from reaching the dew point. This eliminates the need for separate vapor barriers or additional insulation wrapping required for bare metal ducts.

 

Q: How are the ducts joined together?
A: The most common method is the Flange System. Aluminum channels (flanges) are clipped onto the edges of the cut duct panels. The corners are secured with plastic or metal corner pieces. The sections are then bolted together, often with a foam or rubber gasket between them to ensure an airtight seal.

 

Q: Can PIR HVAC Air Ducts be used for high-pressure HVAC systems?
A: PIR HVAC Air Ducts are rigid and structurally strong, but they are most commonly used in low to medium pressure systems (typically up to 2,000 Pa static pressure).
