The unique shape of our GI Shaped Disks is the result of meticulous engineering and design. These disks are precisely contoured to fit seamlessly with air conditioning duct components, providing a secure and airtight connection. This tight fit minimizes air leakage, which is a common issue in HVAC systems that can lead to significant energy losses. By reducing air leakage, our shaped disks help optimize the performance of the HVAC system, ensuring that it operates at peak efficiency and reduces energy consumption.
B. Definition, material, application of GI Shaped Disk For Duct Accessories

Definition: GI Shaped Disk For Duct Accessories refers to Galvanized Iron (GI) shaped disks used for pipe fittings. It is an important accessory for pre-insulated air duct panels in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems.
Material: Made of high-quality galvanized iron (GI) sheet, the zinc coating on its surface can provide excellent anti-corrosion performance, enhancing the durability and service life of the product.
Function: Mainly used to distribute pressure on a larger surface area, thereby preventing damage to the polyurethane foam (PIR) air duct panel. It is usually used in conjunction with aluminium reinforcing profiles to enhance the structure of the air duct panel by evenly distributing pressure, ensuring that the reinforcing profiles can be precisely inserted into the air duct and providing a firm and stable installation effect.
C. Installation steps of GI Shaped Disk For Duct Accessories
Step 1: Determine the installation location (Key!) Avoid concentrating stress
According to the design drawings, mark the parts of the air duct that need to be strengthened (such as both sides of the PIR panel joint, the end points of the reinforcing profiles or the middle support points).
Measure with a tape measure to ensure that the center of the disc is aligned with the centerline of the reinforcing profile (with a deviation not exceeding 2mm), and the spacing between adjacent discs is uniform (usually 300-500mm, adjusted specifically according to the size of the air duct and the load-bearing requirements).
Use a right-angle square to assist in drawing a circle and mark the installation range of the GI disc (ensure that the disc completely covers the contact area between the reinforcing profile and the PIR panel to maximize pressure dispersion).
Step 2: Pre-install adaptation (to avoid being unable to adjust after installation)
Attach the GI disc to the marked position and make sure its edge does not exceed the effective range of the air duct panel (especially the outer protective layer of the pre-insulated air duct to avoid damaging the insulation effect).
Insert the aluminum reinforcing profile, gently press the disc, and check whether the reinforcing profile can be smoothly inserted into the air duct slot, and whether the disc is deformed (if there is any jamming, the disc position needs to be readjusted or the burrs on the edge need to be ground).
Step 3: Fix the GI disc (with dual fixation on the "panel side" and the "profile side")
Step (1): Fix the disc to the PIR air duct panel
Drill 2 to 3 holes (slightly smaller than the diameter of the self-tapping screw) along the edge of the GI disc with an electric drill (avoiding the central force-bearing area). Fix the disc to the hard surface layer of the PIR panel with screws (be careful to control the force to avoid the screws penetrating the PIR foam too deeply and causing damage to the panel).
Step (2): Fix the disc and the aluminum reinforcing profile
After inserting the reinforcing profile into the air duct slot, drill a hole at the center of the disc (the contact point with the profile), and use self-tapping screws to tightly connect the disc and the reinforcing profile (ensuring that both are not loose to achieve pressure transmission).
If the air duct is used in a humid environment (such as a basement or bathroom), a small amount of sealant can be applied to the screw holes to enhance the anti-corrosion effect.
Step 4: Overall adjustment and reinforcement
After the installation of the single set of discs is completed, gently tap the surface of the discs with a rubber hammer to ensure that they are fully attached to the panel and profile without any lifting edges (lifting edges will cause pressure concentration and damage the PIR foam).
Check the flatness of all discs along the direction of the reinforcing profiles. Use a right-angle square to measure the verticality of adjacent discs (with a deviation not exceeding 1°) to avoid uneven force distribution due to installation inclination.
