I. Product Structure

PID Air Duct Panels are a kind of composite structure of air duct panels. Take the common type as an example. Its internal core is closed-cell polyisocyanurate (PIR) foam, and the density of this foam is usually between 40 and 55 kg/m³. The foam is covered with different materials on both sides, such as embossed aluminum foil with a thickness of 60 or 80 microns on one side and aluminum plate with a thickness of 150 to 200 microns on the other side.

 

This sandwich structure endows the board with excellent comprehensive performance. Aluminum foil can effectively prevent moisture and reflect heat, while aluminum plates offer high compressive strength and corrosion resistance, protecting the internal PIR foam. ​

Ii. Performance Advantages

1.1 Outstanding thermal insulation: PIR foam itself has an extremely low thermal conductivity, approximately 0.018-0.022 W/(m · K). This enables PID Air Duct Panels in HVAC systems to minimize heat transfer to the greatest extent, reduce the energy consumption of the air conditioning system, give full play to the efficiency of the air handling unit, and reduce operating costs.

1.2. Excellent fire resistance: When PIR foam is exposed to open flames and burns, a carbonized layer forms on its surface. This carbonized layer can effectively isolate the lower layer of foam, prevent the spread of flames, and does not produce harmful gases during the combustion process, meeting relevant fire safety standards and providing a guarantee for the safety of building Spaces.

1.3. Moisture-proof and antibacterial: The material properties endow it with excellent moisture-proof and water-proof properties, effectively resisting the erosion of humid air and preventing the performance of the board from being reduced due to moisture. At the same time, it also has certain antibacterial properties, inhibits the growth of microorganisms, ensures the cleanliness of the conveyed air, and maintains good indoor air quality.

1.4. Lightweight and high strength: Compared with traditional metal Air ducts, PID Air Duct Panels are lighter in weight, which can reduce the load of the building structure, lower the requirements for the supporting structure during installation, and reduce the costs of installation materials and labor. Iv. Installation and Maintenance

During installation, a professional PID duct cutting tool box or a CNC cutting machine can be used, and the process should be carried out in accordance with standardized procedures, including the drawing of pipe shapes, cutting, gluing, folding, tape sealing, flange installation and reinforcement, etc.

 

Daily maintenance is simple. Due to its stable structure and durable materials, it is less likely to have problems such as wear and corrosion. Just conduct regular inspections in accordance with relevant standards, such as checking whether the pipe connections are well sealed and whether the appearance is damaged, to ensure its long-term stable operation and reduce maintenance costs.
