PU Insulated HVAC Duct
PU Insulated HVAC Duct refers to a type of ductwork used in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems where the thermal insulation layer is made of Polyurethane (PU) foam. This insulation is typically sandwiched between two outer layers (often aluminum foil or other metal sheets) or directly adhered to the duct panel.
Structure
The most common form is the PU sandwich panel. It consists of three layers:
Inner Layer: Perforated or non-perforated aluminum foil (for airflow & sound absorption).
Core Layer: Rigid Polyurethane (PU) foam (provides thermal insulation).
Outer Layer: Reinforced aluminum foil or galvanized steel (for mechanical protection).
Key Properties of Polyurethane (PU) Insulated HVAC Duct
High Thermal Efficiency: PU foam has a very low thermal conductivity (typically 0.018–0.024 W/m·K), meaning it is a superior insulator compared to traditional fiberglass or rock wool.
