How to make PU Foam Straight Ducting
Step 1 - Tracing: outline the duct shapes on the panel.
Step 2 - Cutting: Using manual cutting tools, cut along the panel edges and create 90 degree "V" grooves on the panel.
Step 3 - Gluing: Apply glue to the cutting surfaces of the panels.
Step 4 - Folding: After the glue is cured, fold the sides toward each other to from the straight duct.
Step 5 - Taping: The tape is applied only to the external seams of the duct where the sides of the panel were joined for air-tightness.
Step 6 - Flanging: After applying glue and positioning the steel angle bracket, process to fit the PVC or aluminum invisible flanges.
Step 7 - Reinforcement: reinforce the duct with an aluminum reinforcement bar and G.I. Shaped disks, if necessary.
Step 8 - Sealing: After the duct is assembled, seal all internal joints hermetically with silicone.








Product structure and core physical parameters of PU Foam Ducting Panel

This product is a sandwich-type integrated composite sheet, with a hard polyurethane closed-cell foam core in the middle, double-sided hot-pressed composite 60–80μm embossed anti-corrosion aluminum foil on both sides. The standard specification is 3950×1200×20mm, and the custom thickness can be selected from 10–40mm.
Core measured data: Foam density 48–52kg/m³, closed-cell ratio ≥ 95%; Thermal conductivity 0.018–0.022W/(m・K); Absorption rate ≤ 1.5%; Water vapor permeability coefficient < 3ng/(Pa・m・s); Operating temperature range - 50℃~80℃; Fire performance reaches national standard GB8624 B1 level of flame retardant, smoke density SDR ≤ 35, no melting dripping during combustion, forming a carbonized flame-blocking layer to stop the spread of flames.
Compared with the traditional glass wool, the thermal conductivity of this product is 0.047W/(m・K). Under the same insulation effect, a 20mm PU board has the same insulation capacity as a 45mm mineral wool and 140mm softwood, significantly reducing the space occupied by the ceiling.
Lightweight structure and construction efficiency of PU Foam Ducting Panel
The weight of the sheet material is only 1.2–1.5 kg per square meter. For the same size galvanized iron sheet duct, the weight is approximately 4.8 kg per square meter. It is only 1/3 of the traditional iron sheet duct, reducing the load on the building ceiling and saving the usage of hangers and fixed supports by over 30%. It also saves the cost of auxiliary steel structures.
During the construction process, there is no need for secondary outsourcing of insulation or separate soundproofing procedures. The sheet is cut in the factory, folded and connected on-site to form the duct. The assembly time for a single section of the duct is shortened by 70%, and the overall ventilation project duration is reduced to 1/5 of the original time compared to the iron sheet duct.
For a 1000 square meter ventilation duct system, the traditional solution requires 12 people to complete it in 7 days, while the PU prefabricated sheet only needs 6 people and 2 days to complete it. The indirect costs such as personnel management and site leasing are reduced by 10%–15%.

Energy-saving and thermal insulation performance and operating cost data of PU Foam Ducting Panel

The integrated prefabricated structure has no cold bridges or joint leakage heat defects. The cold loss of the duct system is reduced by more than 85% compared to the galvanized iron sheet + external glass wool solution.
