Product Structure and Basic Physics of Polyurethane PID board

This Polyurethane PID board features a sandwich composite construction, consisting of double-sided anti-corrosion aluminum facings bonded to a rigid PIR foam core. Factory pre-laminated with integrated thermal insulation, it removes the requirement for on-site secondary insulation wrapping, making it a dedicated panel for prefabricated HVAC ductwork.

The aluminum foil cladding creates a continuous vapor barrier. Paired with high closed-cell PIR foam core, the panel fundamentally blocks vapor ingress and delamination risks. Integrated one-piece construction eliminates thermal bridges, eradicating heat loss occurring at flanges and support brackets of conventional metal ductwork. Its monolithic structure outperforms segmented field-insulated duct systems in structural stability and thermal performance.

Moisture Resistance, Mold Prevention and Durability of Polyurethane PID board

The rigid PIR core features a high closed-cell structure with a volumetric water absorption rate below 1%, far superior to rock wool's water absorption rate exceeding 10%. Double-sided aluminum facings form a full moisture barrier, preventing water uptake, swelling and deformation even during long-term service in high-humidity basements or coastal salt-laden atmospheres. This fundamentally eliminates surface condensation and water dripping on duct exteriors.

The panel achieves Class 0 mold resistance, with an antibacterial efficiency of ≥99.5% against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. No formaldehyde, benzene or other hazardous volatile compounds are emitted, making it ideal for clean air ventilation systems in hospitals, food processing plants, laboratories and similar hygienic environments. The anti-corrosion aluminum foil passes a 1000-hour salt spray test, retaining integrity in both acidic and alkaline working conditions. With a service life over 20 years under standard operating conditions, it vastly outperforms rubber-plastic insulation materials that only last 5–8 years before degradation, greatly cutting long-term duct maintenance and replacement costs.
