What is Pre-insulated Aluminum PU Ductwork?

It is a composite panel with a sandwich structure: a rigid polyurethane (PU) foam core is bonded between two outer layers of aluminum foil or sheet . This design means the ductwork itself is the insulation, unlike traditional galvanized iron (GI) ducts which need a separate layer of insulation like glass wool wrapped around them after fabrication .
