PID ALU SHEET

Air tightness of the duct system is a key pain point for long-term energy saving. Traditional galvanized iron sheet ducts rely on tongue-and-groove connections and lack sealing measures, resulting in leakage rates generally ranging from 8% to 15%. Even if sealant is applied on-site, the gaps will continue to expand due to long-term vibration and temperature changes.

 

PID sheet adopts sheet cutting and strip connection technology, along with dedicated sealing tape, and the overall leakage rate of the formed duct is stable at ≤2%, meeting the standards of first-class ducts. For fans, continuous compensation for leakage is required. Every 5% increase in leakage leads to an approximately 7% increase in fan energy consumption. Under long-term operating conditions, PID ducts can stabilize a 12% to 18% reduction in fan power consumption, and the energy-saving effect does not rapidly decline with the use年限. Many projects only focus on the thermal conductivity of insulation, but neglect the continuous performance loss caused by air leakage. PID sheet avoids a large number of connection gaps in the structure design.

Hydrothermal stability of PID Duct Sheet

The stability of the humid and hot environment directly affects the service life of the duct and the indoor air quality. The closed-cell rate of the PID core material can reach over 94%, and the water absorption rate is ≤ 0.1%. The aluminum foil surface layer forms a complete vapor barrier. In high-humidity environments such as coastal areas in the south, underground garages, and commercial kitchen backrooms, traditional external rubber and plastic insulation is prone to water vapor penetration. After the insulation layer absorbs water, the thermal conductivity increases by more than 50%, and mold grows.

 

The integrated structure of PID does not have the problem of the insulation layer peeling off from the iron sheet, and the surface of the board will not have large-area condensation. Under the measured environmental humidity of 90% and a supply air temperature difference of 12℃, there is no condensation phenomenon on the outer surface of the board, and dripping water that damages the ceiling decoration is completely prevented.

The on-site construction fault-tolerance capability is adapted to the current working environment. In the traditional ductwork process, two teams of workers, namely the sheet metal workers and the insulation workers, work in a cross-operation manner. The connection of the processes is prone to cause delays in the construction schedule.

 

The PID sheet material only requires one group of technicians to cut and assemble it into a shape, eliminating the need for a secondary insulation winding process. Under the same engineering volume, the overall construction period is shortened by 35% to 45%. The sheet material can be processed on-site to make elbows, changes in diameter, and three-way pipe fittings with irregular shapes. There is no need for a long pre-assembly schedule in the factory.

 

At the same time, there is no risk of metal cutting sparks, and in renovation projects and indoor environments with flammable decorations, the pressure of fire safety control is even lower.
