Material structure of PIR Ventilation Duct

PIR Air Duct

The core advantage of PIR ventilation ducts lies in their innovative three-layer composite structure, which breaks the traditional split design logic of "duct + external insulation layer" for air ducts. The innermost layer is a food-grade airtight aluminum foil or high-molecular inner lining layer, with a surface smoothness of Ra≤0.05μm. It not only reduces air flow resistance (the air resistance coefficient is reduced by more than 30% compared to traditional iron sheet air ducts), but also prevents dust accumulation and bacterial growth on the inner wall of the air duct, meeting the hygiene requirements of clean scenarios such as medical and food workshops. The middle layer is made of high-density PIR foam core material, with a closed-cell rate of ≥98% and a thermal conductivity as low as 0.018-0.022W/(m · K). It maintains stable insulation performance within a wide temperature range of -100 ° C to 120 ° C, solving the pain points of low-temperature brittleness and high-temperature deformation of traditional insulation materials. The outer layer is an embossed aluminum foil or glass fiber reinforced protective layer, which has moisture-proof, impact-resistant and UV-resistant properties. It can be directly exposed to outdoor environments without additional protective treatment, greatly simplifying the installation process.

Engineering Applications of PIR Ventilation Duct

Unlike the standardized specifications of conventional ventilation ducts, PIR ventilation ducts can be highly customized and adapted to various complex engineering scenarios. In terms of specifications, it can customize the cross-sectional dimensions of rectangular air ducts ranging from 100mm×100mm to 2000mm×1500mm, and the diameters of circular air ducts covering 100mm to 1500mm. It can also produce special-shaped elbows, tees, reducers and other accessories according to engineering requirements, and all accessories are factory-prefabricated integrated insulation products. Only on-site splicing and installation are required. Compared with the traditional air duct mode of "on-site production + on-site insulation", the construction period is shortened by more than 50%. From the perspective of scene adaptation, for high-humidity underground garages and coastal areas, moisture-proof and reinforced protective layers can be customized. For hospital operating rooms and laboratories with high cleanliness requirements, antibacterial linings can be customized. For industrial high-temperature exhaust scenarios, the special PIR core material with a temperature resistance up to 150℃ can be upgraded to achieve flexible application of "one pipe adapted to multiple scenarios".

In the current context where fire safety requirements are becoming increasingly strict, the flame retardant performance of PIR ventilation ducts has achieved a differentiated breakthrough. Its PIR core material itself meets the B1 grade flame-retardant standard stipulated in GB 8624-2012. When exposed to fire, it will only carbonize without melting and dripping, and has a low smoke emission (smoke density grade SDR≤15), which can effectively prevent the spread of fire and toxic smoke.

Meanwhile, its connecting parts are made of a combination of fireproof sealant and metal clips. The overall flame-retardant performance at the splicing point is consistent with that of the air duct body, solving the safety hazards of traditional air ducts where "the insulation layer is flame-retardant but the pipe body is not" or "the pipe is flame-retardant but the splicing point is prone to fire". For key fire protection units such as high-rise buildings and large shopping malls, fireproof covered PIR air ducts can also be customized. The overall performance can meet the A-level fire protection standard, achieving A balance between safety and insulation performance.
