Modular adaptability in narrow or irregular Spaces
Rigid prefabricated insulated air ducts are produced using factory standardized modules. The single section length can be customized to 1.2-3 meters, and sealing grooves are pre-set at the interfaces. On-site, only bolt splicing is required.
In Spaces such as hotel mezzanine ceilings and narrow ventilation shafts in subway tunnels (with a clear width often less than 0.8 meters), two people can complete the module assembly without the assistance of large equipment, saving more than 50% of the on-site operation space compared to traditional air ducts.
Structure of Rigid Pre-Insulated Ductwork
Core insulation layer: PIR (polyisocyanurate) is the "insulation heart" of the entire product. Its main function is to block the transfer of heat/cold, such as cold air and hot air in air conditioning ducts. It reduces temperature loss and has a better insulation effect than ordinary materials.
Functional protective layer: Aluminum Foil is attached to the surface of the PIR insulation layer (usually on both the inner and outer sides), and it has three functions:
Moisture-proof: Prevent water vapor in the air from seeping into the PIR; otherwise, the PIR will mold and its insulation effect will deteriorate.
Reflected heat: Further reduce heat transfer and enhance insulation;
Protect PIR: Prevent PIR from being scratched or damaged.
Acoustic Noise Reduction Optimization for HVAC Systems
The combination of rigid structure and integrated insulation layer endows it with natural acoustic advantages:
The inner layer is made of smooth aluminum foil or modified plastic material, which can still reduce turbulent noise when the airflow velocity reaches 8m/s.
The intermediate insulation layer (mostly PU/PIR foam) also has a damping effect and can absorb the low-frequency noise generated by the vibration of the air duct.
Compared with the traditional "iron sheet air duct + external insulation" (with operating noise often reaching 45dB), it can control the air duct noise below 35dB in scenarios such as hospital wards and theater audience areas. There is no need to install additional mufflers, which not only saves space but also reduces system costs, meeting the requirements of places with high acoustic environment demands.
